Abu Dharr reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Clean earth is the Muslim's means of purification, even if he does not find water for ten years."

Sahihأخبرنا عمرو بن هشام قال حدثنا مخلد عن سفيان عن أيوب عن أبي قلابة عن عمرو بن بجدان
عن أبي ذر قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ الصعيد الطيب وضوء المسلم وإن لم يجد الماء عشر سنين
[hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Purification, chapter on what has been reported concerning tayammum for one in a state of major ritual impurity, etc, hadith 124, from the narration of Sufyan Thawri. Abu Dawud transmitted it in the Book of Purification, chapter on one in a state of major ritual impurity who performs tayammum, hadith 332, from the narration of Abu Qilaba, at length, and it is also found in Kubra, hadith 311. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 2292, as did Ibn Hibban, and Hakim, 1/176, 177, and Dhahabi and others. It has a corroborating narration from Abu Hurairah
