The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The martyr does not feel the pain of being killed except as one of you feels the sting of a pinch."
أخبرنا عمران بن يزيد قال حدثنا حاتم بن إسمعيل عن محمد بن عجلان عن القعقاع بن حكيم عن أبي صالح
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الشهيد لا يجد مس القتل إلا كما يجد أحدكم القرصة يقرصها
[Its chain is daif, but the hadith is hasan li-ghayrihi]. It was narrated by Tirmidhi, Fadail al-Jihad, chapter on what has been said about the merit of the border guard, hadith: 1668, and Ibn Majah, hadith: 2802, from the hadith of Ibn Ajlan, with this wording. It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith: 4369. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib sahih." Ibn Ajlan used ambiguous transmission (anana). His hadith has a daif corroborating witness in Tabarani's al-Awsat: 1/198, 282.
