Abu Hurairah reported,

A man from the people of Sham said to him, "Old man, narrate to me a hadith you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He replied, "Yes. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The first three people whose cases will be judged on the Day of Resurrection are these.A man who was martyred will be brought forward. Allah will make known to him His blessings, and the man will recognize them. Allah will ask, "What did you do with them?"He will reply, "I fought for Your sake until I was martyred."Allah will say, "You have lied. Rather, you fought so it would be said, 'So-and-so is brave,' and so it was said." Then it will be commanded that he be dragged on his face until he is cast into the Fire.Then a man who studied knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran will be brought forward. Allah will make known to him His blessings, and he will recognize them. Allah will ask, "What did you do with them?"He will reply, "I studied knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran for Your sake."Allah will say, "You have lied. Rather, you studied knowledge so it would be said, 'He is a scholar,' and you recited the Quran so it would be said, 'He is a reciter,' and so it was said." Then it will be commanded that he be dragged on his face until he is cast into the Fire.Then a man whom Allah had granted abundance and given every type of wealth will be brought forward. Allah will make known to him His blessings, and he will recognize them. Allah will ask, "What did you do with them?"He will reply, "I did not leave any path in which You love wealth to be spent except that I spent in it for Your sake.'"Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "I did not fully grasp the word 'love' as I had intended.""He will say, 'I did not leave any way that You love wealth to be spent except that I spent in it for Your sake.'Allah will say, 'You have lied. Rather, you did so it would be said, "He is generous," and so it was said.' Then it will be commanded that he be dragged on his face and cast into the Fire."

أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا ابن جريج قال حدثنا يونس بن يوسف عن سليمان بن يسار قال تفرق الناس

عن أبي هريرة فقال

له قائل من أهل الشام أيها الشيخ حدثني حديثا سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ قال نعم سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أول الناس يقضى لهم يوم القيامة ثلاثة رجل استشهد فأتي به فعرفه نعمه فعرفها قال فما عملت فيها قال قاتلت فيك حتى استشهدت قال كذبت ولكنك قاتلت ليقال فلان جريء فقد قيل ثم أمر به فسحب على وجهه حتى ألقي في النار ورجل تعلم العلم وعلمه وقرأ القرآن فأتي به فعرفه نعمه فعرفها قال فما عملت فيها قال تعلمت العلم وعلمته وقرأت فيك القرآن قال كذبت ولكنك تعلمت العلم ليقال عالم وقرأت القرآن ليقال قارئ فقد قيل ثم أمر به فسحب على وجهه حتى ألقي في النار ورجل وسع الله عليه وأعطاه من أصناف المال كله فأتي به فعرفه نعمه فعرفها فقال ما عملت فيها قال ما تركت من سبيل تحب قال أبو عبد الرحمن ولم أفهم تحب كما أردت أن ينفق فيها إلا أنفقت فيها لك قال كذبت ولكن ليقال إنه جواد فقد قيل ثم أمر به فسحب على وجهه فألقي في النار
