Zuhri reported,

It has reached us that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw pebbles at the Jamrah closest to the slaughtering place at Mina, he would throw seven pebbles, saying takbir with each pebble he threw. Then he would move forward beyond it and stand facing the qiblah, raising his hands in supplication, and he would prolong his standing.Then he would come to the second Jamrah and throw seven pebbles at it, saying takbir with each pebble he threw. Then he would descend to the left and stand facing the Kaaba, raising his hands in supplication.Then he would come to the Jamrah at al-Aqaba and throw seven pebbles at it, but he would not stop there.Zuhri said, "I heard Salim narrating this from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, and Ibn Umar used to do the same."

أخبرنا العباس بن عبد العظيم العنبري قال حدثنا عثمان بن عمر قال أنبأنا يونس

عن الزهري قال

بلغنا أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا رمى الجمرة التي تلي المنحر منحر منى رماها بسبع حصيات يكبر كلما رمى بحصاة ثم تقدم أمامها فوقف مستقبل القبلة رافعا يديه يدعو يطيل الوقوف ثم يأتي الجمرة الثانية فيرميها بسبع حصيات يكبر كلما رمى بحصاة ثم ينحدر ذات الشمال فيقف مستقبل البيت رافعا يديه يدعو ثم يأتي الجمرة التي عند العقبة فيرميها بسبع حصيات ولا يقف عندها قال الزهري سمعت سالما يحدث بهذا عن أبيه عن النبي ﷺ وكان ابن عمر يفعله
