We returned during the pilgrimage with the Prophet ﷺ, and some of us were saying, "I threw seven pebbles," while others were saying, "I threw six." Yet none of us criticized the others.

[Hasan] Ahmad narrated it in 1/168 from the hadith of Abdullah bin Abu Najeeh, with this wording, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly, in Musnad Saad bin Abu Waqqas by Ahmad bin Ibrahim Dawraqi, no. 133, and it is in al-Kubra, no. 4083, and Diya mentioned it in al-Mukhtarah.Mujahid did not meet Saad bin Abu Waqqas, but the hadith has corroborating narrations that support its meaning.
