I saw Umar come to the Black Stone and say, "I know well that you are only a stone, and had I not seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kiss you, I would not kiss you." Then he drew near to it and kissed it.
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال أنبأنا عيسى بن يونس وجرير عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم
رأيت عمر جاء إلى الحجر فقال إني لأعلم أنك حجر ولولا أني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يقبلك ما قبلتك ثم دنا منه فقبله
Bukhari narrated it in the chapters on Hajj, in the chapter on what has been mentioned regarding the Black Stone, hadith no. 1597, and Muslim narrated it in the chapters on Hajj, in the chapter on the recommendation of kissing the Black Stone during tawaf, hadith no. 1270/251, from the hadith of Amash with the same chain, and it is also in al-Kubra, hadith no. 3920.
