Someone said to Zayd bin Arqam, "Are you not aware that the Prophet ﷺ was given a portion of game meat as a gift while he was in the state of ihram, and he did not accept it?"He replied, "Yes."
أخبرنا أحمد بن سليمان قال حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال أنبأنا قيس بن سعد عن عطاء أن
لزيد بن أرقم ما علمت أن النبي ﷺ أهدي له عضو صيد وهو محرم فلم يقبله قال نعم
[Its chain of transmission is sahih]. Abu Dawud reported it in the Book of Rites of Hajj, chapter on the meat of game for one in ihram, hadith 1850, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this chain. It is also in his Sunan al-Kubra, hadith 3803, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, hadith 981.
