Ibn Umar used to reject making a conditional intention during Hajj, saying, "Is the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not enough for you? If any of you is prevented from completing the Hajj, let him perform tawaf around the House and walk between Safa and Marwa, then come out of ihram completely, until he performs Hajj the following year and offers a sacrificial animal, or fasts if he cannot find one."
