Imran bin Husayn said to me, "We performed tamattu with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "There are three men named Ismail bin Muslim. This one is among them and there is no harm in him. Another Ismail bin Muslim is an elder who narrates from Abu Tufayl, and there is no harm in him. The third Ismail bin Muslim narrates from Zuhri and al-Hasan, and his hadith is abandoned."
أخبرنا أبو داود قال حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا إسمعيل بن مسلم قال حدثنا محمد بن واسع
قال لي عمران بن حصين تمتعنا مع رسول الله ﷺ قال أبو عبد الرحمن إسمعيل بن مسلم ثلاثة هذا أحدهم لا بأس به وإسمعيل بن مسلم شيخ يروي عن أبي الطفيل لا بأس به وإسمعيل بن مسلم يروي عن الزهري والحسن متروك الحديث
