It is as if I can still see the gleam of perfume in the parting of the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in the state of ihram.
أخبرنا حميد بن مسعدة قال حدثنا بشر يعني ابن المفضل قال حدثني شعبة عن الحكم عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
كأني أنظر إلى وبيص الطيب في مفرق رأس رسول الله ﷺ وهو محرم
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on ghusl, in the section "One who applies perfume then performs ghusl and traces of the perfume remain," hadith no. 271, and Muslim, hadith no. 42/1190 (see the preceding hadith, no. 2690), both from the hadith of Shubah with this wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 3677.
