I asked Ayesha, "With what did you perfume the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"She replied, "With the finest perfume, both when he entered the state of ihram and when he came out of it."
أخبرنا محمد بن منصور قال حدثنا سفيان قال
قلت لعائشة بأي شيء طيبت رسول الله ﷺ قالت بأطيب الطيب عند حرمه وحله
Sourcing, Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hajj, chapter, Perfume for the one entering ihram, hadith 36/1189, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing, chapter, What is recommended of perfume, hadith 5928, from the hadith of Uthman bin Urwa, through him. It is also in Al-Kubra, hadith 3669.
