A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "What clothing should we wear when we enter the state of ihram?"He replied, "Do not wear shirts, trousers, turbans, hooded cloaks, or leather socks, unless someone has no sandals, in which case he may wear leather socks but should cut them below the ankles. And do not wear any garment touched by wars dye or saffron."
أخبرني محمد بن إسمعيل بن إبراهيم وعمرو بن علي قالا حدثنا يزيد وهو ابن هارون قال حدثنا يحيى وهو ابن سعيد الأنصاري عن عمر بن نافع عن أبيه
أن رجلا سأل رسول الله ﷺ ما نلبس من الثياب إذا أحرمنا قال لا تلبسوا القميص ولا السراويلات ولا العمائم ولا البرانس ولا الخفاف إلا أن يكون أحد ليست له نعلان فليلبس الخفين أسفل من الكعبين ولا تلبسوا من الثياب شيئا مسه ورس ولا زعفران
[Its isnad is sahih] Ahmad narrated it (77/2) from Yazid bin Harun with this chain, and it is in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 3655. Nasai said, "Abdullah bin Nafi is not reliable, while Nafi, the freed slave of Abdullah bin Umar, is reliable and a rigorous memorizer."
