The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the pilgrim in Muharram from wearing a garment dyed with saffron or wars.
أخبرنا محمد بن سلمة والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع عن ابن القاسم قال حدثني مالك عن عبد الله بن دينار
نهى رسول الله ﷺ أن يلبس المحرم ثوبا مصبوغا بزعفران أو بورس
Narrated by Bukhari, [Book of] Clothing, chapter on tanned leather sandals and similar items, hadith: 5852, and Muslim, [Book of] Hajj, etc., hadith: 3/1177, from the hadith of Malik through this chain. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya): 3251, chapter on what is permissible for one in ihram for Hajj or Umrah to wear, and in Kubra, hadith: 3646.
