Fadl bin Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a woman from the tribe of Khathaam came to seek his ruling. Fadl began looking at her and she at him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned Fadl's face to the other side. She said, "Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Allah upon His servants regarding the Hajj has reached my father as a very old man who cannot remain firmly seated on a mount. May I perform Hajj on his behalf?"He replied, "Yes."This took place during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
