The Prophet ﷺ said, "Charity given to the needy is charity, but charity given to a relative is two things at once, charity and the maintaining of kinship ties."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا ابن عون عن حفصة عن أم الرائح
عن النبي ﷺ قال إن الصدقة على المسكين صدقة وعلى ذي الرحم اثنتان صدقة وصلة
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Majah reported it in the chapter on zakat, in the section on the merit of charity, hadith 1844, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Awn Basri, transmitted through him. It is also found in Kubra, hadith 2363. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 2067, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith 892, and Hakim, 1/431, 432, stating it meets the criteria of Bukhari, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
