The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give something to the beggar, even if only a burnt hoof." In Harun's version, the wording is "burnt."
أخبرني هارون بن عبد الله قال حدثنا معن قال حدثنا مالك ح وأنبأنا قتيبة بن سعيد عن مالك عن زيد بن أسلم
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ردوا السائل ولو بظلف في حديث هارون محرق
Its isnad is sahih, and it is in Kubra, no. 2346, and Muwatta (Yahya), 2/923, with the wording, "Turn away the poor person, even if only with a torn hoof," and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2473, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 824, and Hakim, 1/417, and Dhahabi. Zayd bin Aslam was not a mudallis according to the more correct view. See the following hadith, no. 2576.
