The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are three whom Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them or purify them, and they will have a painful punishment."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this statement.Abu Dharr said, "They are ruined and lost, they are ruined and lost. Who are they, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "The one who lets his garment hang below his ankles out of arrogance, the one who promotes his goods through false oaths, and the one who reminds others of the favors he has given them."
أخبرنا محمد بن بشار عن محمد قال حدثنا شعبة عن علي بن المدرك عن أبي زرعة بن عمرو بن جرير عن خرشة بن الحر
عن النبي ﷺ قال ثلاثة لا يكلمهم الله عز وجل يوم القيامة ولا ينظر إليهم ولا يزكيهم ولهم عذاب أليم فقرأها رسول الله ﷺ فقال أبو ذر خابوا وخسروا خابوا وخسروا قال المسبل إزاره والمنفق سلعته بالحلف الكاذب والمنان عطاءه
Reported by Muslim, in the Book of Faith, chapter on the severity of the prohibition of trailing one's garment, etc., hadith no. 106, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with this same chain, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 2344.Muhammad here is Ibn Jafar, whose nickname is Ghundar.
