The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no zakat on less than five wasqs, no zakat on less than five camels, and no zakat on less than five ounces of silver."
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال حدثنا سفيان قال حدثني عمرو بن يحيى ح و أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى ومحمد بن بشار عن عبد الرحمن عن سفيان وشعبة ومالك عن عمرو بن يحيى عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ليس فيما دون خمسة أوسق صدقة ولا فيما دون خمس ذود صدقة ولا فيما دون خمسة أواق صدقة
Reported by Muslim, Zakat, chapter "There is no zakat on less than five awsuq," hadith no. 979, from the report of Sufyan bin Uyayna, and by Bukhari, Zakat, chapter on the zakat of silver, hadith no. 1447, from the report of Malik from Amr bin Yahya, through this same chain. It is also found in the Muwatta (Yahya's recension), 1/244, and in the Kubra, hadith no. 2225.
