Abu Qatada reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about his fasting, and he became angry. Umar said, "We are pleased with Allah as our Lord, with Islam as our religion, and with Muhammad as our Messenger."He was then asked about someone who fasts perpetually, and he replied, "He has neither fasted nor broken his fast," or, "He did not fast and did not break his fast."
