Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast the entire month of Shaban.

Sourcing, sahih. Ahmad narrated it in 6/89 from the hadith of Baqiyyah with the same chain, and it is also in al-Kubra, hadith no. 2665. This hadith has many corroborating narrations. Buhayr is Ibn Saad.
