Ghaylan reported,

I went out on a journey with Abu Qilaba, and he brought food forward.I said, "I am fasting."He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on a journey and brought food forward, and he said to a man, 'Come closer and eat.'The man said, 'I am fasting.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah has lifted half of the prayer from the traveler, as well as the fast during travel. So come closer and eat.'"So I came closer and ate.

خرجت مع أبي قلابة في سفر فقرب طعاما فقلت إني صائم فقال إن رسول الله ﷺ خرج في سفر فقرب طعاما فقال لرجل ادن فاطعم قال إني صائم قال إن الله وضع عن المسافر نصف الصلاة والصيام في السفر فادن فاطعم فدنوت فطعمت
