I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Won't you stay for the morning meal, Abu Umaya?"I replied, "I am fasting."He said, "Come, let me tell you about the traveler. Allah has lifted from him the obligation of fasting and half of the prayer."
[Sahih]. It is in Kubra, hadith no. 2577, where Amr bin Qutayba appears instead of Amr bin Uthman, which is correct, as in Tuhfat Ashraf and Tahzib Kamal. See the previous hadith. Walid is Ibn Muslim, and he explicitly stated hearing it in an unbroken chain according to Nasai in Kubra.
