The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ramadan has come to you, a blessed month in which Allah has made fasting obligatory upon you. During it, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are shut, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it, Allah has a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its goodness has truly been deprived."
أخبرنا بشر بن هلال قال حدثنا عبد الوارث عن أيوب عن أبي قلابة
قال رسول الله ﷺ أتاكم رمضان شهر مبارك فرض الله عز وجل عليكم صيامه تفتح فيه أبواب السماء وتغلق فيه أبواب الجحيم وتغل فيه مردة الشياطين لله فيه ليلة خير من ألف شهر من حرم خيرها فقد حرم
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Ahmad narrated it: 230/2, 385, 425, from the hadith of Ayub Sakhtiyani with this wording, and it is in Kubra, no. 2416. Alai said, regarding the narration of Abu Qilaba from Abu Hurairah, that the apparent view in all of this is that it is a disconnected transmission (Jami Tahsil, p. 211).
