The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous during Ramadan when Jibreel would meet with him. Jibreel used to meet him every night during the month of Ramadan to review the Quran with him. When Jibreel met him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more generous in doing good than the sweeping wind.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Beginning of Revelation, in the chapter titled "How the Revelation Began to Come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," etc., hadith no. 6, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Virtues, in the chapter "The Prophet ﷺ Was the Most Generous of People in Giving Good, Like a Blowing Wind," hadith no. 2308, both from the hadith of Yunus bin Yazid Ayli, with the same wording. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 2405.
