Abu Hurairah reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "A servant once wronged himself excessively, and when death approached him, he said to his family, 'When I die, burn me, then grind me to dust, then scatter me in the wind over the sea. For by Allah, if Allah gains power over me, He will punish me with a punishment He has inflicted on no one else among His creation.'His family did exactly that. Then Allah commanded everything that had taken any part of him, 'Return what you took.' And there he stood.Allah asked him, 'What drove you to do what you did?'He answered, 'Fear of You.'So Allah forgave him."

أخبرنا كثير بن عبيد قال حدثنا محمد بن حرب عن الزبيدي عن الزهري عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن

عن أبي هريرة قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أسرف عبد على نفسه حتى حضرته الوفاة قال لأهله إذا أنا مت فأحرقوني ثم اسحقوني ثم اذروني في الريح في البحر فوالله لئن قدر الله علي ليعذبني عذابا لا يعذبه أحدا من خلقه قال ففعل أهله ذلك قال الله عز وجل لكل شيء أخذ منه شيئا أد ما أخذت فإذا هو قائم قال الله عز وجل ما حملك على ما صنعت قال خشيتك فغفر الله له
