The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to see me while a Jewish woman was with me, and she was saying, "You will be tested in the graves." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was alarmed and said, "It is only the Jews who will be tested."Ayesha said, We waited several nights, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It has been revealed to me that you will indeed be tested in the graves."Ayesha said, After that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
أخبرنا سليمان بن داود عن ابن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب قال حدثني عروة أن
دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وعندي امرأة من اليهود وهي تقول إنكم تفتنون في القبور فارتاع رسول الله ﷺ وقال إنما تفتن يهود وقالت عائشة فلبثنا ليالي ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ إنه أوحي إلي أنكم تفتنون في القبور قالت عائشة فسمعت رسول الله ﷺ بعد يستعيذ من عذاب القبر
Muslim narrated it, chapter on The Recommendation of Seeking Refuge from the Punishment of the Grave, etc., in the Book of Mosques, hadith no. 584, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb, with the same wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 2191.
