The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and spoke about the trial by which a person is tested in his grave. When he mentioned this, the Muslims raised such a clamor that it prevented me from grasping the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ words.When their clamor subsided, I said to a man near me, "May Allah bless you, what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say at the end of his speech?"He replied, "He said, 'It has been revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves with a trial close to that of the Dajjal.'"
أخبرنا سليمان بن داود عن ابن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب أخبرني عروة بن الزبير أنه سمع
قام رسول الله ﷺ فذكر الفتنة التي يفتن بها المرء في قبره فلما ذكر ذلك ضج المسلمون ضجة حالت بيني وبين أن أفهم كلام رسول الله ﷺ فلما سكنت ضجتهم قلت لرجل قريب مني أي بارك الله لك ماذا قال رسول الله ﷺ في آخر قوله قال قد أوحي إلي أنكم تفتنون في القبور قريبا من فتنة الدجال
Bukhari narrated it in his chapter on funerals, in the section on what has been mentioned regarding the punishment of the grave, hadith no. 1373, from the hadith of Abdullah Ibn Wahb, transmitted through him. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 2189.
