I was sitting with Sulayman bin Surad and Khalid bin Arfata when they mentioned that a man had died from a stomach ailment, and the two of them expressed their wish to attend his funeral.One of them said to the other, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not say, 'Whoever is killed by his stomach will not be punished in his grave'?"The other replied, "Yes, indeed."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد عن شعبة قال أخبرني جامع بن شداد قال سمعت
كنت جالسا وسليمان بن صرد وخالد بن عرفطة فذكروا أن رجلا توفي مات ببطنه فإذا هما يشتهيان أن يكونا شهداء جنازته فقال أحدهما للآخر ألم يقل رسول الله ﷺ من يقتله بطنه فلن يعذب في قبره فقال الآخر بلى
Its isnad is sahih. It is in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith 2179, and Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Funerals, chapter on what has been said about who the martyrs are, hadith 1064, through another route from Sulayman bin Surad, and he said, hasan gharib.Abdullah bin Yasar is al-Juhani al-Kufi.
