The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Your brother the Negus has died, so stand up and pray over him." He then stood and arranged us in rows just as one is arranged for a funeral prayer, and he prayed over him.
أخبرنا محمد بن عبيد عن حفص بن غياث عن ابن جريج عن عطاء
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن أخاكم النجاشي قد مات فقوموا فصلوا عليه فقام فصف بنا كما يصف على الجنازة وصلى عليه
Bukhari narrated it, Funerals, chapter on rows for the funeral prayer, no. 1320, and Muslim, Funerals, chapter on the takbir for the funeral prayer, no. 65/952, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj from Ata bin Abu Rabah with the same chain, and it is in Kubra, no. 2097.
