The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the children of the polytheists. He replied, "Allah knows best what they would have done."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن المبارك قال حدثنا الأسود بن عامر قال حدثنا حماد عن قيس هو ابن سعد عن طاوس
أن النبي ﷺ سئل عن أولاد المشركين فقال الله أعلم بما كانوا عاملين
Its isnad is sahih. Ahmad narrated it: 2/346, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with it, in full. It is also in Al-Kubra, no. 2077.
