The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do seven things and forbade us from seven. He commanded us to visit the sick, to bless the one who sneezes, to fulfill an oath, to support the wronged, to spread the greeting of peace, to accept an invitation, and to follow funeral processions. He forbade us from gold rings, silver vessels, silk saddle covers, qassi garments, istabraq, silk, and brocade.
أخبرنا سليمان بن منصور البلخي قال حدثنا أبو الأحوص ح وأنبأنا هناد بن السري في حديثه عن أبي الأحوص عن أشعث عن معاوية بن سويد قال هناد قال البراء بن عازب وقال سليمان
أمرنا رسول الله ﷺ بسبع ونهانا عن سبع أمرنا بعيادة المريض وتشميت العاطس وإبرار القسم ونصرة المظلوم وإفشاء السلام وإجابة الداعي واتباع الجنائز ونهانا عن خواتيم الذهب وعن آنية الفضة وعن المياثر والقسية والإستبرق والحرير والديباج
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage, chapter on the right of accepting invitations to a wedding feast, etc., hadith 5175, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas Salam bin Salim Hanafi, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing, chapter on the prohibition of using vessels of gold and silver for men and women, etc., hadith 2066, from the hadith of Ashath bin Abu Shatha Salim bin Aswad, through him, and it is in Kubra, hadith 2066.
