The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When a man sits between her four limbs and then exerts himself, the bath becomes obligatory."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, this is an error. The correct version is from Ashath, from al-Hasan, from Abu Hurairah. Nadr bin Shumayl and others narrated this hadith from Shuba in the same way that Khalid narrated it.
أخبرنا إبراهيم بن يعقوب بن إسحق الجوزجاني قال حدثني عبد الله بن يوسف قال حدثنا عيسى بن يونس قال حدثنا أشعث بن عبد الملك عن ابن سيرين
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا قعد بين شعبها الأربع ثم اجتهد فقد وجب الغسل قال أبو عبد الرحمن هذا خطأ والصواب أشعث عن الحسن عن أبي هريرة وقد روى الحديث عن شعبة النضر بن شميل وغيره كما رواه خالد
[Its isnad is sahih], and it is in Kubra, hadith no. 198. The preceding hadith serves as a corroborating witness for it. Nasai said, "Hasan did not hear from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned the defect, but it is not one that invalidates the hadith.
