Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

When the death of one of the young daughters of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took her and pressed her to his chest, then placed his hand upon her. She passed away in the hands of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Umm Ayman wept, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Umm Ayman, do you weep while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is beside you?"She replied, "Why should I not weep when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself is weeping?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am not weeping out of grief, rather this is mercy." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is in a state of good in every condition. His soul is drawn out from between his sides while he is praising Allah ."

أخبرنا هناد بن السري قال حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن عطاء بن السائب عن عكرمة

عن ابن عباس قال

لما حضرت بنت لرسول الله ﷺ صغيرة فأخذها رسول الله ﷺ فضمها إلى صدره ثم وضع يده عليها فقضت وهي بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ فبكت أم أيمن فقال لها رسول الله ﷺ يا أم أيمن أتبكين ورسول الله ﷺ عندك فقالت ما لي لا أبكي ورسول الله ﷺ يبكي فقال رسول الله ﷺ إني لست أبكي ولكنها رحمة ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ المؤمن بخير على كل حال تنزع نفسه من بين جنبيه وهو يحمد الله عز وجل
