Ayesha was asked, "How was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during Ramadan?"She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never prayed more than eleven units, neither in Ramadan nor outside of it. He would pray four units, do not ask about their beauty and length, then he would pray four more, do not ask about their beauty and length, then he would pray three."Ayesha said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, do you sleep before performing witr?'He replied, 'Ayesha, my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.'"
أخبرنا محمد بن سلمة والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع واللفظ له عن ابن القاسم قال حدثني مالك عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن أنه أخبره أنه
كيف كانت صلاة رسول الله ﷺ في رمضان قالت ما كان رسول الله ﷺ يزيد في رمضان ولا غيره على إحدى عشرة ركعة يصلي أربعا فلا تسأل عن حسنهن وطولهن ثم يصلي أربعا فلا تسأل عن حسنهن وطولهن ثم يصلي ثلاثا قالت عائشة فقلت يا رسول الله أتنام قبل أن توتر قال يا عائشة إن عيني تنام ولا ينام قلبي
[Sahih] Bukhari reported it, in tahajjud, chapter on the standing of the Prophet ﷺ in prayer at night during Ramadan and other times, no. 1147, and Muslim, no. 738. See the previous hadith narrated by Malik through the same chain, it is found in Muwatta (Yahya's recension) 1/120, and in Kubra, no. 393 (only in the narration of Harith bin Miskin).
