She was asked about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and about his prayer. She replied, "What concern is his prayer to you? He would pray, then sleep for as long as he had prayed, then pray for as long as he had slept, then sleep for as long as he had prayed, until morning came."Then she described his recitation for him, and she described a recitation that was clearly distinct, letter by letter.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا الليث عن عبد الله بن عبيد الله بن أبي مليكة عن يعلى بن مملك أنه
عن قراءة رسول الله ﷺ وعن صلاته فقالت ما لكم وصلاته كان يصلي ثم ينام قدر ما صلى ثم يصلي قدر ما نام ثم ينام قدر ما صلى حتى يصبح ثم نعتت له قراءته فإذا هي تنعت قراءة مفسرة حرفا حرفا
[Its isnad is hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in Fadail Quran, chapter on how the Prophet's recitation was, no. 2923, from Qutayba, and Abu Dawud in Salah, chapter on the recommended manner of measured recitation, no. 1466, from the hadith of Layth bin Saad in this form, and Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih," and it is also in Kubra, no. 1375.Yaala bin Mamlak is hasan al-hadith, and Ibn Hibban and Tirmidhi rated him trustworthy.
