Anas bin Malik reported,

Rain was withheld for a whole year, so on a Friday some of the Muslims came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, the rain has been held back, the land has become barren, and our livestock are perishing."He raised his hands, and we could not see a single cloud in the sky. He stretched his hands out so high that I could see the whiteness of his armpits as he prayed to Allah for rain.We had not yet finished the Friday prayer when even a young man whose home was nearby grew anxious about getting back to his family. The rain continued for a whole week.When the following Friday came, the people said, "Messenger of Allah, the houses have collapsed and the travelers have been stranded."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled at how quickly the son of Adam grows weary, and gestured with his hands, saying, "O Allah, around us and not upon us." The clouds then parted away from Madinah.

عن أنس قال

قحط المطر عاما فقام بعض المسلمين إلى النبي ﷺ في يوم جمعة فقال يا رسول الله قحط المطر وأجدبت الأرض وهلك المال قال فرفع يديه وما نرى في السماء سحابة فمد يديه حتى رأيت بياض إبطيه يستسقي الله عز وجل قال فما صلينا الجمعة حتى أهم الشاب القريب الدار الرجوع إلى أهله فدامت جمعة فلما كانت الجمعة التي تليها قالوا يا رسول الله تهدمت البيوت واحتبس الركبان قال فتبسم رسول الله ﷺ لسرعة ملالة ابن آدم وقال بيديه اللهم حوالينا ولا علينا فتكشطت عن المدينة
