None of you should give the devil a share of himself by thinking it is binding upon him to leave only by his right side. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ leave most often by his left.
أخبرنا أبو حفص عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يحيى قال حدثنا الأعمش عن عمارة عن الأسود قال
لا يجعلن أحدكم للشيطان من نفسه جزءا يرى أن حتما عليه أن لا ينصرف إلا عن يمينه لقد رأيت رسول الله ﷺ أكثر انصرافه عن يساره
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Adhan, chapter on turning and leaving from the right or the left, no. 852, and Muslim in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers, chapter on the permissibility of leaving the prayer from the right or the left, no. 707, from the hadith of Amash, with the same chain, and it is also in Al-Kubra, no. 1283.
