Hudhayfah saw a man praying, and the man performed the prayer too quickly without completing it properly.Hudhayfah asked him, "How long have you been praying like this?"The man replied, "For forty years."Hudhayfah said, "You have not prayed for forty years, and if you were to die praying this way, you would die upon something other than the natural way of Muhammad ﷺ." Then he said, "A man may shorten his prayer yet still complete it and perform it well."
Bukhari included it in adhan, chapter on "If one does not complete ruku," hadith no. 791, from the hadith of Zayd bin Wahb through this route, and it is also in Kubra, hadith no. 1235.
