Ammar bin Yasir led the people in a brief prayer. They seemed to find it lacking, so he said, "Did I not complete the bowing and the prostration?"They replied, "Yes, you did."He said, "I supplicated during it with a supplication that the Prophet ﷺ used to make. O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive so long as You know that life is best for me, and take me when You know that death is best for me. I ask You for awe of You in private and in public, and for the word of sincerity in times of contentment and anger. I ask You for blessings that never end and a delight of the eye that never ceases. I ask You for contentment with Your decree, for a cool and pleasant life after death, for the joy of gazing upon Your face, and for longing to meet You. I seek refuge in You from harmful affliction and misleading trial. O Allah, adorn us with the beauty of faith, and make us guides who are themselves rightly guided."

صلى عمار بن ياسر بالقوم صلاة أخفها فكأنهم أنكروها فقال ألم أتم الركوع والسجود قالوا بلى قال أما إني دعوت فيها بدعاء كان النبي ﷺ يدعو به اللهم بعلمك الغيب وقدرتك على الخلق أحيني ما علمت الحياة خيرا لي وتوفني إذا علمت الوفاة خيرا لي وأسألك خشيتك في الغيب والشهادة وكلمة الإخلاص في الرضا والغضب وأسألك نعيما لا ينفد وقرة عين لا تنقطع وأسألك الرضاء بالقضاء وبرد العيش بعد الموت ولذة النظر إلى وجهك والشوق إلى لقائك وأعوذ بك من ضراء مضرة وفتنة مضلة اللهم زينا بزينة الإيمان واجعلنا هداة مهتدين
