The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand. When I caught up with him, he was praying, so I greeted him with salam. He gestured to me, and when he finished, he called me over and said, "You greeted me just now while I was praying." At that time, he was facing toward the east.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا الليث عن أبي الزبير
بعثني رسول الله ﷺ لحاجة ثم أدركته وهو يصلي فسلمت عليه فأشار إلي فلما فرغ دعاني فقال إنك سلمت علي آنفا وأنا أصلي وإنما هو موجه يومئذ إلى المشرق
