The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the tashahhud just as he would teach us a surah from the Quran, with my hand placed between his hands."All greetings, prayers, and good things belong to Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger."
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Seeking Permission, the chapter on taking with both hands, hadith 6265, from Abu Naeem Fadl bin Dukayn. Muslim transmitted it in the Book of Prayer, the chapter on the tashahhud in prayer, hadith 59/402, through the hadith of Fadl bin Dukayn, with the same chain. It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith 759.
