Anas bin Malik reported,

When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at midday, we would prostrate on our garments to protect ourselves from the heat.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer Times, Chapter, The Time of Dhuhr at the Zenith, hadith no. 542, from the report of Ibn Mubarak. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Mosques, Chapter on the Recommendation of Praying Dhuhr Early, etc., hadith no. 620, from the report of Ghalib Qattan, with the same wording. It also appears in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 703.
