The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade three things, pecking like a crow, spreading the forearms on the ground like a wild beast, and a man designating a fixed spot in the mosque for his prayer the way a camel marks its resting place.
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الحكم عن شعيب عن الليث قال حدثنا خالد عن ابن أبي هلال عن جعفر بن عبد الله أن تميم بن محمود أخبره أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن ثلاث عن نقرة الغراب وافتراش السبع وأن يوطن الرجل المقام للصلاة كما يوطن البعير
[Its chain is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on prayer where one straightens his back in ruku and sujud, hadith 862, and Ibn Majah in the Book of Establishing Prayers, chapter on adopting a fixed spot in the masjid where one prays, hadith 1429, from the hadith of Jafar bin Abdullah, transmitted through him, and it is also in al-Kubra, hadith 696. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 662 and 1319, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith 476, and Hakim, 1/229, and Dhahabi agreed.Tamim bin Mahmud was declared daif by Bukhari and by the majority, and his rating is more sound. It has a daif corroborating narration in Musnad Ahmad (5/447).
