I came to Medina and said to myself that I would observe the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said the takbir and raised his hands until I saw his thumbs near his ears. When he wanted to bow, he said the takbir and raised his hands. Then he raised his head and said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him." Then he said the takbir and prostrated, with his hands at the same position relative to his ears as when he had begun the prayer.
