I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he prostrated, place his knees down before his hands, and when he rose, lift his hands before his knees.
أخبرنا الحسين بن عيسى القومسي البسطامي قال حدثنا يزيد وهو ابن هارون قال أنبأنا شريك عن عاصم بن كليب عن أبيه
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ إذا سجد وضع ركبتيه قبل يديه وإذا نهض رفع يديه قبل ركبتيه
[Its chain is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter "How He Places His Knees Before His Hands," no. 838, from Husayn bin Isa, with this wording. It is also in al-Kubra, no. 676. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, no. 268, and Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih.Sharik was known for tadlis, and Daraqutni and others accused him of it, though he used to disclaim any practice of tadlis. It may be that this disclaimer came after he had become confused in his memory, and Allah knows best. So the hadith is daif because of his use of "an" (indicating an unspecified transmission).
