I prayed beside my father and placed my hands between my knees. He said to me, "Strike your palms upon your knees."Then I did the same thing another time, so he struck my hands and said, "We were forbidden from this and commanded to strike the palms upon the knees."

صليت إلى جنب أبي وجعلت يدي بين ركبتي فقال لي اضرب بكفيك على ركبتيك قال ثم فعلت ذلك مرة أخرى فضرب يدي وقال إنا قد نهينا عن هذا وأمرنا أن نضرب بالأكف على الركب
Muslim reported it in the Book of Mosques, the chapter on encouraging the placing of the hands on the knees during ruku and the abrogation of tatbiq, hadith 535, from Qutayba. Bukhari reported it in the Book of Adhan, the chapter on placing the palms on the knees during ruku, hadith 790, through the hadith of Abu Yafur al-Kabir, Waqdan al-Kufi al-Abdi, with the same chain. It is also found in Kubra, hadith 621.
