I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution. He washed his hands, then rinsed his mouth and inhaled water into his nose from a single handful. He washed his face and washed his hands once each, and wiped his head and ears once.Abdul-Aziz said, "Someone who heard Ibn Ajlan reported to me that he added in that account, 'And he washed his feet.'"
أخبرنا الهيثم بن أيوب الطالقاني قال حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد قال حدثنا زيد بن أسلم عن عطاء بن يسار
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ توضأ فغسل يديه ثم تمضمض واستنشق من غرفة واحدة وغسل وجهه وغسل يديه مرة مرة ومسح برأسه وأذنيه مرة قال عبد العزيز وأخبرني من سمع ابن عجلان يقول في ذلك وغسل رجليه
[Its isnad is hasan] Reported by Abu Dawud in the Book of Purification, chapter, Performing wudu Twice, no. 137, and by Tirmidhi in the Book of Purification, chapter, What Has Been Said Regarding Wiping the Outer and Inner Parts of the Ears, no. 36, from the hadith of Zayd as related here. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih. It is also found in Al-Kubra, no. 92, and its basis is in Sahih Bukhari, no. 140.
