He traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "If the wife of one of you asks his permission to go to the mosque, he should not prevent her."

يبلغ به النبي ﷺ قال إذا استأذنت أحدكم امرأته إلى المسجد فلا يمنعها
