The Prophet ﷺ said, "When the call to prayer is made, Satan turns and flees, breaking wind so as not to hear the call. Once the call is finished, he comes back. Then when the iqamah is called, he turns away again until it is completed, after which he returns and slips between a man and his own thoughts, whispering, 'Remember this, remember that,' bringing to mind matters the man had not been thinking of before, until he no longer knows how many units of prayer he has performed."

أن النبي ﷺ قال إذا نودي للصلاة أدبر الشيطان له ضراط حتى لا يسمع التأذين فإذا قضي التأذين أقبل حتى إذا ثوب بالصلاة أدبر حتى إذا قضي التثويب أقبل حتى يخطر بين المرء ونفسه يقول له اذكر كذا واذكر كذا لما لم يكن يذكر من قبل حتى يظل الرجل ما يدري كم صلى
