I was with Ibn Abbas, and he related the hadith with the same meaning as the hadith of Ibn Halhalah. In it, Ibn Abbas stated that he himself witnessed this from the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "He prayed," without saying, "with the people."
و حدثناه أبو كريب حدثنا أبو أسامة عن الوليد بن كثير حدثنا
كنت مع ابن عباس وساق الحديث بمعنى حديث ابن حلحلة وفيه أن ابن عباس شهد ذلك من النبي ﷺ وقال صلى ولم يقل بالناس
